spring skin

In the spring, the air shifts from super dry to super humid + it can be so hard to keep your skin balanced and achieve that fresh, glowy look without highlighter. Recently I’ve been asked what I do to keep my skin clear, so I thought I’d share just a few of my go-to products. I used to just pile on the products, not paying attention to what they did and what the ingredients were, just hoping they would do something. In the past year or so I have been paying so much more attention to what products I use – it is so important to know exactly what you put onto your skin and invest in quality products!!!

Here are a few staples I use to keep my skin clear and glowy for the spring:

USES: calm inflammation, reduce redness, flush impurities, balance skin

Super Pure is my miracle product. I’m obsessed. I’ll probably make an entire post about how much I love it eventually because it is that good. It’s designed to use after a night of binge eating (or drinking…) to help flushes out the impurities in your skin. I use it once in the morning under makeup and once right before bed on a clean face. Bonus: hypoallergenic/dermatologist-tested/paraben free /fragrance free/ AND cruelty free!!! (PS: here’s 20% off!!!)

USES: remove makeup, cleanse porses, eliminate impurities, preserve freshness of skin

I am obsessed with this foaming face cleanser. I literally look forward to using it every night. It’s made with organic flower water (who knew that was even a thing) and leaves the softest flowery scent on your skin. All natural + traceable ingredients, vegan, cruelty free.

USES: nourish dry skin, fight signs of aging, counteract redness, replenish youthful glow

The Divine Cream from L’Occiatane is a little more pricey, but a little goes a long way. Moisturizing your skin, even if it’s oily, is crucial in the winter. Plus, it’s never too early to start using anti-aging products.  All natural + traceable ingredients, vegan, cruelty free.

USES: scrub away dirt, clear dead skin, brighten skin

During the winter it is crucial to get rid of the dead skin cells that your body is shedding. This is where an exfoliating mask comes in – the Ocean Salt mask from Lush is filled with coarse sea salt perfect for winter skin. My friends recommended this to me and I’ve been obsessed ever since. And it smells just like the beach! Bonus: Cruelty free, handmade, and fresh ingredients.

USES: firming, hydration, glow

I had seen soooo many influencers (especially the lovely Lauren Elizabeth) post about this so I had to try it. The OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum is basically a multivitamin for your skin to help brighten, firm, and hydrate it. It’s made with green tea and orange and the smell is so nice and perfect for spring.

I could talk about skin products forever but here are just a few staples. I can’t stress enough how important it is to take care of your skin. Invest in good products and RESEARCH WHAT YOU USE!!!! I am in no way a skincare expert but these are the best products that I have found work for me. If you are using good products for your skin and still having trouble –  it’s time to look into what you’re putting into your body (bye dairy!!!) but I’ll save that for another post.

Let me know if you try any of these products – happy glowing!
