Recently, I feel like I have gotten a lot of questions asking me how I stay driven and inspired when I have so much going on. So that’s what this post is going to be about.
I have been having this reoccurring thought that I should be doing more and I should be doing better at what I’m doing. It’s kind of a daunting thought, but I think it’s healthy to keep pushing yourself. That’s what keeps me focused. You can always be doing more and you can always be doing better.
Whether it’s with photography or modeling or music or schoolwork or a job or being creative – you need to work at it. You cannot just expect to sit down and be good at something every time. It’s important to remember that creativity isn’t something that just always comes naturally – and that’s ok. It’s ok to be uninspired sometimes. You have to work at it and practice and grow.
A few mindsets I try to live by . . . .
- Take every good opportunity given to you. I cannot stress this one enough. You never know what else an opportunity tcould lead to.
- Do not be afraid to ask for what you want. You have nothing to lose – you either end up with what you wanted, or stay in the same place.
- Surround yourself with people who have a similar mindset as you. I am so, so, so thankful to have such a driven and creative group of friends. Everyone is always hustling and pushing themselves with whatever project they’re working on + it’s so great to be able to feed off of their energy then translate it into what I’m doing.
Get out and meet new people as often as possible. Get out and try new things as often as possible. Meet someone new for coffee. Pick up your camera or your sketchbook that you haven’t touched in a few months. Put the work in and create something great. You never know what you’re missing out on.
Do more + do better.
