I have never really been one of those people to made a big deal out of the new year or be nostalgic about the last ending — but 2016 was one for the books. This year brought so much growth and I am so thankful for the opportunities I had, what I accomplished, and how rewarding it was.
I lived a longtime dream of mine – I moved to Nashville for the summer and had my dream music business internship on Music Row. I still feel like it was a dream.
I got my heart broken, badly, but I learned and grew and rebuilt myself again.
I threw myself into my passions and discovered new ones – like starting a website.
I pushed myself in school and took 23 credit semesters (so now I can graduate a year early if I decide to!!!!) and still managed to travel almost every weekend.
The year was full of so many new jobs and internships and opportunities and people.
I literally have no idea what this new year holds. No idea. There are so many different directions it could take and I don’t know what I want to do. Graduate undergrad, move to Nashville, go to grad school, stay in Charleston, be finished with school forever, stay in Charleston for grad school, just take a break and relax for once…. move somewhere like New York….. or Hawaii just for fun…. I can dream right?
All I know is that I’m going to make this the most fulfilling, positive year of my life yet.
A few resolutions :
to take every good opportunity I am given
to do something every day that gets me closer to achieving my goals
to be kinder and to love others more
to not be scared of change
travel as much as possible (Hawaii + Europe are at the top of my list)
work on growing my creativity
learn as much as possible in every field possible
to actually learn to play more than 12 chords on the guitar. haha
…. and work harder on posting on this blog consistently and creating good content
